Hola lovelies!

I’ve missed it here on chocomilala 😦 So I hope you’re doing well ❤ Here’s a random thought: Am I normal for having 2 bowls of spaghetti for brunch? Most probably not…

On to the real talk! A while back I was featured in a new blog called MY LIPSTICK STAIN (Instagram), which was established by two of the sweetest and kindest chicks from Malaysia, Atul and Zahin. Their blog is all things beauty, so for all of you beauty lovers you should totally check MY LIPSTICK STAIN out.

Typical Saturday Work Look

image
I work on the weekends. For some reason, the office gets extra hella cold by the end of the week!

A cardigan over a top or just a sweater, with a pair of pants and sneakers, topped off with simple accessories = my typical look for work on the weekends. But last Saturday, I decided to jazz up “my typical look” with these Talbots heels. Now that I’m looking at this outfit, I actually look like I made a tad bit of an effort when I got ready, haha. It’s casual with a little jazz.

How would you dress for work on the weekends? I’d loveee to hear your opinions, lovelies! PS. guess who’s baby picture is that lol.

Stay fab, xx Mirel

Moodboard.1

Ah.. Tumblr. What an inspirational shit to have an account on.

I’ve been using Tumblr for a few years now. No, I’m not Tumblr famous or anything like that. I use it to find inspiration and trigger my creativity (whenever it’s dead) on things I’m passionate about. BUT that doesn’t mean I wanna strictly look and become like the girls you’d see.. Last night I went on a Tumblr-mode after a long ass hiatus. These six photos bring out my current mood where I wanna switch up my style, start journaling again with a more creative approach, then find ways to improve my makeup skills and stop having an uptight facial expression in photos. Haha. The thing about inspiration, we tend to use it in an indirectly manner mixed with our individual approaches.

Anyways, I just wanna share my current Moodboard 🙂 What’s yours? Hope your 2016 has been going great and smooth.

FAV. Hush Puppies Shoes

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

Have you ever bought a pair of shoes JUST for a particular occasion, so you keep it on your shoe rack but never touched it until, THAT occasion came around???

Well, mine is this pair of Hush Puppies Shoes. I got these (on sale in Kuala Lumpur) and patiently waited to wear these till I go to work.. Yas lovelies – I have a job now!! December has been an absolute rainbow 🙂 Anyways. I think these scream total classic with the leather material, golden bow and short heels (about 2 to 3cms). Reminds me of the kind of shoes Audrey Hepburn wore in her movies.. The right shoes really bring MMPH, mentally and physically 😉

Is there a pair of shoes, be of any kind, that mentally and physically bring mmph to you? Lemme know what it is! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year ❤

DWP Music Festival Vibe

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

“I don’t know what to wear for a music festival in Jakarta… I feel like going really simple,” I confessed to my best friend.

“You’re going to wear shorts, right?” she asked.

“Definitely. Are you insane?!” I replied.

“Good,” she said. “It’s going to be SO hot.”

10pm Jakarta time: we were already among the crowd cheering for Galantis, who played their first tune for the night. JIEXPO was packed with local and international EDM fans. I think after Galantis’ first tune, my hair was ruined so I pulled it into a low bun. But that felt weird – I eventually did a high bun, making sure my face was hair free. What was I even thinking of doing my hair with heat?!?! It’s useless! God bless, however, on my outfit choice – I told myself. I screamed and danced my ass off. And at last! My fashion-related thoughts disappeared.

Please don’t be an idiot like me who frigging curled her hair for an event like this. Go for a bun like mine – braid your bangs/hair near your face – it’s a great, simple twist to your basic bun. I also discovered that by wearing a sports shirt, (literally) dancing all night among a tight crowd will feel easier because the material is super lightweight.

Maybe you can give my #styletips a try for your next outdoor summer concert next year 🙂 Hope you’re doing well, lovelies!

Boho Chic in Jogja Ep.2

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

One of Tour Jogja’s descriptions, found on its website, stated that the city “balances life from the past and present with relative ease.”

Wanna know a secret, lovelies? Batik-printed garments are super light-weight and even give enough warmth – to tackle a slightly chilly weather. It’s perfect for Jogja 🙂 On my most recent trip, I strolled around Jalan Malioboro on a very sunny day with no apparent reason actually. Keep in mind to dress modestly in this city! I opted for a sleeveless, knee-length batik dress, or what locals call it as duster. Jogja’s areas near Mt. Merapi are chillier, where one of my uncles has a Salak plantation there. Rain had been pouring a lot hence I wore a light-weight hoodie, a pastel-colored tank-top and my newest purchase: a pair of baggy, batik pants from Pasar Beringharjo.

Falling into Autumn Tag

look 2

Sup lovelies! I know, I know. I’m super late to do this Falling into Autumn Tag AND ’tis the season to be jolly now.. But I reaaally wanna do this since the lovely Pastel Carousel tagged me 🙂 Although where I live only has 2 seasons, I’m lucky that I got to experience both Autumn and Winter as well. Here’s a photo of me at Hyde Park, London during Autumn 2014.

Rules for the tag:
1. Include the blog links of the tag creators (Lilian and Denise).
2. Thank the last person who tagged you and link their blogs in your post.
3. Be thoughtful and creative when you answer these questions.
4. After answering the questions, pass the tag onto at least five more bloggers to spread the autumn joy!

The questions:
1. What is your go-to fall color?
Deep red. I think it brings such sophistication to a look, whether it’s on my lips, nails, neck or a handbag I’m carrying.

2. When you think of fall, what song comes to mind?
Errrr… None. Sorry!

3. During the fall, which trend to do you lean towards more, smoky eye or dark lip?
DARK LIPS 💋 ❤

4. Do you change up your skincare routine when fall comes in?

I normally moisturize a lot more.

5. What’s your favourite thing about fall?
Walking around town with the view of the beautiful colors on the fallen autumn leaves, the comfort of coffee or any other hot drinks on my hands, plus the fact that I don’t sweat hahaha. Bottom line is, I love the nature surrounding me, even when it gets gloomy I think autumn brings such a great vibe. (I miss fall)

6. Would you rather go out for a walk or stay inside the house during fall?
Definitely go out!!! I loveee seeing nature! 🙂 Even though it will rain and get colder, that won’t stop me from going out. The rain is nothing compared to the tropic’s kind hehe. Sigh, I don’t know, I just find myself proactive?

Thus I tag these following dope blogs:
